The Female Chef
Written by Clare Finney and shot by Liz Seabrook, The Female Chef was perhaps one of the most important cookbooks to have been released in 2021. It sets out to explore the nuanced relationship between women and food, featuring interviews with and recipes from Ixta Belfrage, Pamela Yung, Julie Lin, Anna Jones, Asma Khan, Ravneet Gill and others.
To mark International Women’s Day this year we spoke to Clare about where the idea for the book came from, the process of creating it and how women are breaking down the gendered distinction between the terms ‘cook’ and ‘chef’. Read the interview here.
